ORAL PRESENTATION

All lectures will be streamed online, recorded, and made available in on-demand sessions (for 2 months after the meeting) and therefore, all speakers are kindly asked to prepare their presentations with care for online viewing, including respective consent on text and photo usage. Please check USE OF PHOTOGRAPHS in the menu to consult guidance on the use of photographs during presentations prepared by ESPD.

English is the official language of the meeting. The presenting authors are entirely responsible for the presentation content, they should omit any type of advertisement and they are expected to include their potential and actual conflict of interest on the second slide of their presentation.

Time reserved for a scientific presentation is:

  • Plenary talk - 35 minutes
  • Parallel sessions - 20 minutes
  • Free communications - 7 minutes

Presentation format

The preferred presentation format is a Powerpoint file (*.pptx) with a 16:9 aspect ratio. However you can also bring a video file, pdf file, Powerpoint in 4:3 aspect ratio or you don´t have to bring a presentation at all. Even if you won´t have a presentation, please notify the staff at the Speakers´ preview room about it.

Supported file types:

  • Presentation: PPT, PPTX, PDF
  • Video: AVI, MPG, MKV, MOV, MP4, WMV
  • Pictures: JPG, PNG

Presentation upload

Please note, that you cannot use your own computer to present due to the complexity of the streaming setup.

In order to give a presentation, you need to deliver your files to the Speakers’ Preview Room at least two hours before the session. In the preview room, AV technicians will check the presentation setting, videos, fonts, or similar and they´ll assist with possible issues.

Your presentation will be automatically available in the corresponding lecture room.

  • Friday, 20 May -12:00 – 18:30 
  • Saturday, 21 May - 7:15 – 18:30 
  • Sunday, 22 May - 7:15 – 13:00

How to present

All speakers are requested to be present in the session room about 10 minutes before the session starts to meet with the session chair.

Once the presentation is launched on the computer in the respective lecture room, you will advance your own slideshow using the remote controller.

If any problems occur, there will be assisting staff in each lecture room.

If you cannot attend personally, please notify us at your earliest convenience.


A pre-recorded presentation

A pre-recording of your presentation (as a back-up) is recommended and will be scheduled according to your availability:

  • Please prepare your PPT according to the guidance provided above and send us your final slides by email at least 24 hours before your scheduled pre-recording appointment.
  • In the pre-recording meeting, you will meet with an AV technician who will have your final PPT ready and will hand over control over your slides to you.

Despite having your presentation pre-recorded, we will value your live presentation.
Your contribution to the session discussion is expected. To connect, please follow the guidance available below in „An online presentation.“ Once connected you will be able to chat with the session chair, too.


An online presentation

Remote speakers will upload their presentations through the virtual meeting platform. The Upload center can be found on the personal page.

How to present

To make sure everything works well on your side, speakers are required to check their system setup using the online Speakers´ Preview Room.

For the correct function of the online meeting platform please follow the minimum system requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows or Mac OS or Linux based device
  • Latest Chrome or Microsoft Edge internet browsers (other browsers are not fully supported)
  • Noise-canceling headphones with a microphone to reduce background noise
  • Stable Internet connection (minimum 10/10Mbps)

To give a presentation online, you need to join the virtual room about 20 minutes before the session start by joining the session in the “Remote participation” tab. You can view the remote speaker interface here.

Virtual speakers’ briefing will be planned closer to the event and recorded, you will be notified in time.
