ESPD TRAINING CENTRES
Criteria of selection of training centres
ESPD Achievement certificate (Level 1):
3 months clinical attachment in an ESPD training centre as follows:
- The trainee will be under the supervision of the Supervisors, 2 consultant pediatric dermatologists who are members of the ESPD and his mentor
- 12 full-time working weeks each including at least 8 half-days attending pediatric dermatology clinics and clinical sessions, or by negotiation with the ESPD training committee and the local training center this could be undertaken part-time over a pro-rata longer period.
- Clearly-defined learning objectives for the 3 months: knowledge and skills as defined by the ESPD training committee.
- The trainee will be required to keep a logbook of participation in the daily practice of pediatric dermatology.
- The local supervisors based on ESPD assessments will perform progress evaluation: 1 x per 3 weeks based on the learning objectives, knowledge and skills.
- A final assessment of the paediatric dermatology training competencies undertaken by 2 ESPD assessors of the Center.
- The trainee will also be expected to prepare and submit a case presentation to the annual ESPD meeting but this will not be evaluated.
Trainees chose a mentor from the ESPD mentor list. The mentor must belong to a different centre than the chosen training centre for the 3 months clinical attachment.
