Speaker: Dr Hagen Ott

Bio: Hagen Ott is the head of the Dpt. of Pediatric Dermatology and Allergology at the Children’s Hospital AUF DER BULT in Hannover, one of the largest specialized pediatric hospitals in Germany. As a board-certified pediatrician (2005), allergologist (2006) and dermatologist (2010), he completed his four-year Pediatric Dermatology fellowship at the Dpt. of Pediatric Dermatology at Wilhelmstift Children’s Hospital in Hamburg (2010-2014). After his MD thesis (2002) and his associate professorship (2010) from the Technical University of Aachen, he has been appointed as adjunct professor of Dermatology at Hannover Medical School (start scheduled for 06/2022), where he has established the Centre for Rare Congenital Skin Diseases together with Prof. Thomas Werfel. He is the head of the Hannover Epidermolysis bullosa center caring for pediatric EB patients from Germany and abroad. His clinical and research interests focus on rare congenital skin diseases, neonatal dermatology, atopic diseases and skin lesions in the context of systemic diseases such as diabetes, obesity or rheumatologic disorders. He

has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and published a textbook on Pediatric Allergology as well as book chapters in national and international textbooks. In the last 4 years, his Department has been receiving both pediatric and dermatological trainees every year, mainly within the mentoring program of the German Working Group for Pediatric Dermatology. His department is also an ESPD training site with a multidisciplinary staff comprising pediatricians, dermatologists, pediatric surgeons, psychologists, pediatric nurses and a specialized outreach nurse visiting affected children and their families in different settings all over Germany.

Speaker: Dr. Carolina Colmant

Bio: Dr Caroline Colmant is a MD at the Department of Dermatology in the University Hospital of Leuven, Belgium. She completed her master of dermatology and venerology at the Saint-Luc University Hospital in Brussels in 2017. Her strong interest in paediatric dermatology was there aroused and during that period, she obtained the interuniversity diploma in paediatric dermatology at the University of Nice. 


The choice for an additional training in paediatric dermatology was therefore very natural: she continued her education with a fellowship in paediatric dermatology at the Sainte-Justine Hospital in Montreal (Canada), between 2018 and 2021. 


She now begins her career as paediatric dermatologist with various interests.

Speaker: Dr. Ilona Frieden, Dr Kelly Cordoro

Bio: Ilona Frieden is a Professor of Pediatrics and Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine She has been a dermatologist for over 40 years. She has won many teaching, service, and mentoring awards. These include the UCSF Dermatology Department teacher of the year, Mentor of the year and Rose Hirschler award from the Women’s Dermatological Society, the Thomas Pearson Memorial award and the Williams James Mentor of the Year Award from the American Academy of Dermatology, the Dermatology Foundation’s Lifetime Career Educator Award, the Alvin Jacobs Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics, and in 2023 she was inducted into the Society for Pediatric Dermatology Hall of Fame. She has been on board of many professional organizations and served as president of many including the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, the American Board of Dermatology the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies and the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance. For 12 years she was co-editor-in-chief of the journal, Pediatric Dermatology. She has authored more than 300 articles and numerous book chapters. Although her publications cover a wide variety of topics, her most important contributions come via her career-long interest in vascular birthmarks.

 

Bio: Dr. Kelly M. Cordoro is a pediatric dermatologist who treats all types of skin conditions, with particular interest in psoriasis, autoimmune diseases and inflammatory diseases. She is also interested in laser surgery and other surgical procedures for dermatological disorders.

Cordoro's research interests include pediatric psoriasis and systemic therapies for inflammatory disorders.

Cordoro earned her medical degree at Penn State College of Medicine. She completed a residency in dermatology at the University of Virginia in 2005 and remained on the faculty until 2007, caring for patients in general dermatology and serving as assistant program director for resident medical education. She completed a fellowship in pediatric dermatology at UCSF in 2008.

Cordoro is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, Society for Pediatric Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance, Dermatology Foundation, Association of Professors of Dermatology, National Psoriasis Foundation and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
